Subject: Superheros!
Gordon Jones stars as the Green Hornet with his trusty sidekick and polymath Kato, played by Keye Luke. I always enjoy seeing Keye Luke, though in those days, the 1930s and '40s, he rarely got a starring role.

Like most serials, this one is aimed at kids. Short, clumsy background exposition and stick-figure characterizations, this first episode gets right to the action. Fun to watch, if you like these old serials. It's not just cops and robbers. They've got a souped-up car with custom paint job and horn. The Green Hornet puts his gas gun right up to bad guys, who I guess can't figure out he wouldn't want to use it in that manner. Why does he take credit for a murder? Maybe we'll find out in the next episode!

I downloaded the 512Kb mpeg4 file. Video and audio are OK, though the video looks somewhat washed out.
